Harriet is a hedgehog who doesn’t have any spikes. She is very embarrassed about going out as she is worried about what all the other hedgehogs will say. Harriet the Hedgehog costs just £6.00 and is available for purchase here.

Written for her nieces following their diagnosis in September 2009 with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, Megan and Gracie have since completed their chemotherapy treatment and are now on the road to recovery. The girls asked to meet Father Christmas in Lapland and visit Centre Parcs respectively for their once-in-a-lifetime Starlight Wish.

This year’s Virgin London Marathon was a scorcher, so very well done to all of our runners for completing the 26.2 mile course. Just like your friends and families, Starlight couldn’t be prouder of your wonderful achievement as demonstrated by the many hoarse voices in the Starlight Office the following morning!

Starlight arranged for Matthew and Kieran and their families to fly out to Dublin to watch WWE wrestling live. During the trip, a meeting with John Cena had been arranged. For both Matthew and Kieran, the opportunity to chat to their hero and be photographed with him really was a dream come true!

Despite undergoing several operations, Logan always has a smile on her face and is a very positive and thoughtful girl. Logan wants to be a vet when she grows up so she can care for others. Logan’s wish-of-a-lifetime is to swim with dolphins in Florida.

Stuart is absolutely mad about superheroes and his all-time favourite is Iron Man! For his once-in-a-lifetime Starlight Wish, Stuart attended the UK premiere of Iron Man 3, which was held at Odeon Leicester Square.  Not only did Stuart and his family walk the red carpet with the stars but they also had a very special meeting with the real Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr! Gurkamaljit loves cars and his favourite TV programme is Top Gear. His greatest wish was to ride in a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport so Starlight arranged the trip-of-a-lifetime to Molsheim, France. Bugatti Automobiles invited Gurkamaljit to their Château so the young car fanatic could enjoy an exclusive tour and ride in his dream car!

Four-year-old Ollie from Fleetwood is a very brave little boy who has already had to deal with a huge amount in his short life.  He suffers from spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy. This severely affects his mobility and he has to use a walking frame to get around.

Ollie is an avid fan of WWE wrestling and has always dreamt of meeting a real WWE wrestler!  Starlight arranged for Ollie and his family to watch WWE Wrestling Live at Motorpoint Sheffield Arena and Ollie even got to meet Sheamus, one of his favourite wrestlers, and go into the ring with him! Thankfully, she is now in remission so the future looks much brighter. Zaynab loves nature and being outdoors so her Starlight Wish is to have a beautiful garden which she can enjoy with a swing, a slide, green grass, colourful plants, a vegetable patch and an apple tree!

Ever since Caitlin saw Alfie Boe play Jean Valjean in Les Misérables in 2011, she has been his biggest fan!  Caitlin’s wish was to sing with Alfie and Starlight arranged for her to meet her hero in Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena. Together they sung Tell Me It’s Not True, which was a dream come true for Caitlin!

Bestselling children’s author Tamsyn Murray has been helping Starlight to bring a little storytelling magic to poorly children at Ealing Hospital. Tamsyn visited the hospital as part of Starlight Storytellers, a national venture that was launched in 2011 by Starlight and publisher Simon & Schuster.

Tamsyn spent time with children and their families on the Charlie Chaplin Children’s Ward.  During her visit, she read from her latest book, Snug as a Bug, and her much-loved Stunt Bunny series, which features the adventures of young rabbit, Harriet Houdini! For the full story, click here.
