Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recently taken charge of eight Starlight Fun Centres and two of these new machines have been funded by Beaudesert Park School in Minchinhampton.
Starlight arranged for Harry to have a very special bike which would look like his dad’s, with lights, indicators, and speedometers, but battery operated and custom built for a wheelchair so that Harry could ride it comfortably and safely.
At a special 10th anniversary celebration dinner to commemorate the start of restaurant Fifteen and remember Kevin Boyle, a former apprentice chef, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver invited two of Starlight’s wish children to join him as guests of honour!
At just one year old, Jamie was diagnosed with a form of brain tumour called optic glioma. As a result, he is now visually impaired and has to endure endless visits to the hospital. Jamie's wish-of-a-lifetime was to have a holiday "in paradise".
Catriona's greatest wish was to meet and stroke some Shetland ponies but she had to wait over six months until she was well enough for her wish. When that day came, however, her wish was better than she ever could have imagined.
06/02/12 - When his brother Charlie was given the devastating news that he had a rare form of cancer, 24 year old Ryan Leach was determined to do whatever he could to bring some much-needed laughter and distraction to Charlie and other seriously ill young people like him.
26/01/12 - Starlight has teamed up with Concorde Media, Alexander Miles, eBay and The Langham London Hotel to organise a Celebrity Lampshade Auction to raise funds for the charity.
