Abigail’s high note at the Last Night of the Proms

Talented trumpeter Abigail has cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that causes the lungs and digestive system to become clogged with mucus.  She wished to rehearse with the BBC Symphony Orchestra for The Last Night of the Proms and with the help of the Orchestra, Starlight arranged for Abigail and her parents to attend the rehearsals at the BBC’s Maida Vale studios. Abigail rehearsed with the orchestra for approximately 6 hours and the other ‘Trumpets’ were mightly impressed with Abigail!

The next day Abigail joined the orchestra for their final rehearsal at the Royal Albert Hall, a truly magical experience for Abigail and her family who were proudly watching from the stands. Abigail said, “I can’t remember having a dream as a good as the wish you granted me! Thank you Starlight!”
