Nine-year-old Daniel is fighting a hybrid form of AML and ALL leukaemia, a rare type of cancer of the white blood cells and is currently undergoing a programme of intensive treatment.
Daniel loves football and wished to meet his football hero Harry Kane and walk out with him as a mascot at a Tottenham Hotspur’s match.
We arranged for Daniel along with his parents, Ric and Ali, and his older sister Amy to watch Spurs play Stoke City. When Daniel arrived at White Hart Lane he was taken to meet the Spurs team and all the players signed his match programme.
The family were welcomed into Harry’s family box and given goodie bags full of football treats and Harry Kane merchandise including a signed and framed photo.
Then came the time for Daniel to head down to the tunnel and get ready to walk out on the pitch with his hero Harry. Much to Daniel’s delight, Spurs won the match 4-0 with Harry scoring a hat-trick!
Daniel said, “Walking out at White Hart Lane with my Spurs hero Harry Kane was TOTALLY EPIC!”
Ali said, “It was a huge thrill for Daniel to be able to meet his hero. We received the warmest of welcomes from Tottenham Football club, their manager Mauricio Pochettino and Harry Kane’s close family. The day could not have been any better and we are very grateful to Harry Kane, his management and to Starlight for making Daniel’s wish come true.”
