Your rights

Every child has the right to play.

This means every single child, whatever their culture, impairment, gender, language, background, behaviour or need. The right to play is accepted universally and is set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

The right to play: our position statement

This position statement sets out what we mean by the power of play and why it matters so much in the treatment and care of children.

In doing so it provides a summary of our more in-depth play policy, which also cites the evidence to support what we say and do.
