A magical Christmas at 11 Downing Street

Yesterday, 45 children attended a very special Christmas party hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP and Starlight at 11 Downing Street.

The excited children arrived in their best party dresses, Christmas jumpers and smartest attire to carols sung by a choir from the Royal College of Music. They posed for photos by the Downing Street Christmas tree before heading into No. 11 for a magical afternoon.

There were lots of activities for the children to take part in including making a jumping sprout, building a reindeer and decorating a Christmas tree. Capital FM DJ Roman Kemp made sure that the best songs were playing all afternoon and the children had fun showing off their moves on the dance floor.

The children were joined at the party by a number of special guests including Starlight co-founder Emma Samms, Rupert Grint, Taron Egerton, Ben Shires, Janette Manrara, Lindsey Russell, Natalie Pinkham, Roman Kemp, Steve Backshall and Stefan Gates.

Princess Starlight, Candy Cane the Elf and Captain Starlight were also on hand to make sure everyone had an amazing day. Father Christmas made sure that each child went home with a special present.
