Star trekker Bob’s 900 mile walk

In 1976 Bob Carter walked 900 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for charity. Now forty years later, Bob is determined to do this monumental walk again at the age of 61.

Bob is raising funds for four charities all focussed on improving the lives of vulnerable children; Starlight, Amigos, Children’s Hospice South West and the Reedham Children’s Trust.

The aim is to walk 30 miles a day for 30 days starting on Tuesday 30th August. Each day of the walk Bob will open a letter from one of the children being supported by the charities.

Whilst many people have walked from the top of the country to the bottom, Bob’s not aware of anyone having done it forty years apart.
