Fun Centre Launch Leeds General Infirmary08/07/2011 – Children staying in hospital in Leeds have become among the first in the country to enjoy a new bedside entertainment unit called ‘The Starlight Fun Centre’.

The national charity Starlight, which grants wishes to seriously ill children, says the machines represent a new era in distraction therapy.

Each machine includes a high definition TV, Blu-ray disc player and library, Nintendo Wii games console and four portable Nintendo DS consoles.

Playing on the centres makes children feel less anxious and nervous about illness and treatment, according to researchers.
