Christmas dog is boy’s gift of life

25/12/2010 – A seriously ill little boy’s “perfect Christmas wish” has come true after he was given a new best friend who could change his life for ever.

William Milne, 6, has already endured 41 operations, suffers from autism and has always struggled to make friends.

But the brave youngster from Addiscombe has been given a four-legged ray of sunshine in the form of golden retriever puppy Oliver.

The 10-week-old cuddly Christmas present was donated as an “assist” dog by charity the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
