For most people one spinning class is enough but not for wish mum Nadia who held a gruelling nine hour spinathon to raise funds for Starlight and the Starr Trust.
Nadia wanted to give something back to Starlight after the charity granted her daughter, Daisy’s, wish to go to Lapland and meet Santa at the end of last year.
She explains, “Daisy was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent a lot of radiotherapy. Daisy and her sister, Dotty, have always wanted to see where Santa lives so this is what Daisy wished for and Starlight organised for us to go to Lapland just before Christmas. The wish was absolutely amazing and there’s nothing that can top it! It was like being in Narnia and Daisy loved every second. From beginning to end it was truly magical”
Nadia continues, “I wanted to fundraise for Starlight to give other sick children and their families the opportunity to go on incredible wishes and create memories that they can think back on in times to come. I’ve been completely overwhelmed by everyone’s support for the spinathon and people have been extremely generous.”
The event was held at Virgin Active Brighton and raised over £8,000. The proceeds from the day were split equally between Starlight and the Starr Trust.
