‘Oar’ Inspiring evening at the Blenheim By Starlight Ball

Starlight and guests had a truly ‘oar’ inspiring evening on Friday at the Blenheim by Starlight ball.

To celebrate Team Oar Inspiring crossing the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge finish line in an impressive 35 days, 8 hours and 5 minutes, Starlight held the ‘Blenheim By Starlight’ ball, hosted by His Grace The Duke of Marlborough, James Spencer-Churchill at his spectacular home in Blenheim Palace.

The team had already raised an incredible amount while on the water, but the fundraising to help fund a year’s worth of Starlight wishes did not stop there! Throughout the evening guests had the chance to bid on some phenomenal auction prizes, including an oil portrait commission by renowned artist Phoebe Dickinson and a new generation customised Moke car. The live auction on the night was hosted by Sotheby’s UK Chairman, Harry Dalmeny.

Rory Bremner kept the guests entertained as master of ceremonies and the evening concluded with an intimate acoustic performance from 2018’s biggest-selling debut artist Anne-Marie.

A massive thank you to our amazing supporters and development committee who organised auction prizes and donated so generously. The ball raised a massive £835,000 for Starlight – making it the most successful Starlight fundraising event ever!
