Aaron’s Arsenal Dreams Come True!

Sadly last March after a trip to the opticians followed by a referral to St Georges hospital, Aaron was diagnosed with a Germ Cell Brain Tumour. His family’s life was turned upside-down as Aaron endured months of gruelling treatment including intense chemotherapy, and radiation as well as brain surgery. Thankfully Aaron is now doing really well, his hair has returned and nearly a year from his diagnosis he is back at Harris School in South Norwood. After everything he had been through one thing kept Aaron positive, and that was watching Arsenal on the TV. Aaron’s parents even got him tickets to see a game but unfortunately he was too ill to go.

As soon as Starlight heard about brave Aaron’s childhood dream to meet the Arsenal players they immediately set about making it come true!

Aaron and his Dad arrived at the Emirates stadium last week for the team training session; they watched the players practice and Aaron had photos taken with all heroes as well as getting autographs and his shirt signed. Aaron described his highlight as meeting his hero Arsene Wenger

Aaron said “I asked him (AW) if I could be a striker for them” and Arsen laughed and said “I think we have enough strikers mate”.  “I now have memories that I will never forget and I am treasuring the day and all my signed stuff. Thank you Starlight for the best day ever”

Starlight are delighted to have been able to grant this special wish to brave Aaron and are even going to get him some match tickets so he can see them live in action!
