Bestselling author Sophie McKenzie visits seriously ill teens at UCH

Sophie McKenzie visits young patients at University College Hospital London

18/01/12 – Award-winning author Sophie McKenzie has been inspiring teenage patients at University College Hospital with the help of Starlight and publisher Simon & Schuster.

A group of chronically ill patients on the Young Persons Unit were treated to a reading from Sister, Missing, the sequel to Girl, Missing. This series follows the journey made by adopted teenager Lauren who suspects she was stolen away from her original family and goes in search of the truth about her past.

The event was the latest instalment in Starlight Storytellers, which is a national venture that sees authors, illustrators and storytellers visiting hospitals and hospices around the UK to bring books to life for sick children.
