A Special Starlight Escape at RAF Wittering

On Tuesday 1st October, Starlight brought four remarkable young people for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at RAF Wittering.  For Starlight wish children Bradley Wood, Lewis Clamp, Toby Gladman and Alex Booth, it was a very special day out and an escape from the all-too-familiar routine of tests, treatments and hospital visits.

During a packed day the visitors were given a chance to get a close look at an RAF Fire Engine, handle rescue equipment, were taken to the officers’ mess for lunch and had a chance to sit in the cockpit of a Harrier at the Station Heritage Centre.  Flt Lt Mark Baron (47) of the Headquarters Medical Reserves Wing organised the visit. He said; “It’s been a pleasure to have Bradley, Lewis, Toby and Alex here. We’ve really enjoyed their company.”
