A warm Austrian welcome from of Starlight’s friends in Saalbach Hinterglemm
Moshe, who was born with only half a heart, had his life-saving transplant aged just three years, after his heart went into complete failure. Although he is doing very well, Moshe had to spend Passover in hospital having some more surgery and once again missing a family occasion.
When Starlight heard, they enlisted the support of some friends in Austria to provide Moshe and his family with a much-needed break and some family time together.
Solomon, Moshe’s father, explained to Starlight: “When Starlight called to say that we had been invited to stay at the beautiful Chalet Augustine in the Alps for a week, my wife Beverley and I were absolutely bowled over by their kindness. We had not had a holiday all together since Moshe was born as we had been worried about being far away from hospital care.
Starlight had thought of everything, arranging with the local hospital to take Moshe’s notes and be on hand should we need their support which meant that for the first time we felt comfortable leaving the UK.
We’re really so appreciative of all the kindness and hospitality which made our stay in Hinterglemm so memorable for us and our four children. They especially thrived on the time we spent together as a family unit, something that we haven’t been able to do for quite a while.
Asa Johansson, our host at Chalet Augustine couldn’t do enough for us. Asa and her family are truly are amazing people as are their friends Stefan Sommerbichler and his sister Andrea who run their Alpen Karawanserai as a Kosher hotel during the summer months. Their understanding of our specific needs was totally unexpected and made our holiday very special. “
