A group of Starlight wish children helped Starlight Ambassador and TNA wrestler Rockstar Spud celebrate his birthday by joining him on the London leg of the TNA MAXIMUM IMPACT 8 UK Tour on Saturday 30th January.
The children and their families attended a pre-show birthday party for Spud at The SSE Arena, Wembley, organised by Starlight. Other guests included TNA President Dixie Carter, wrestler Eddie Edwards of The Wolves, actor and comedian Johnny Vegas, Blue Peter Presenter Radzi Chinyanganya, England rugby international Alex Corbisiero, James Cleverly MP, Apprentice winner Ricky Martin and BAMMA fighters Nathan ‘Mr Bag & Tag’ Jones and Stuart ‘He-Man’ Austin.
The guests helped the families sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Spud and eat lots of rainbow cake!
After the party, Spud and TNA kindly arranged for the Starlight guests to watch the show, where the families were able to see world-renowned wrestlers including Kurt Angle, Lashley, Matt Hardy, EC3, Beer Money, The Wolves and Rockstar Spud himself in action.
Commenting on the party, Spud said, “I really was touched by the party in my honour. I’m not the best when it comes to celebrating birthdays but this is definitely one to remember. All that mattered to me was that the Starlight children and their families were having a good time. It was wonderful to see the kids enjoying themselves and that’s what both organisations are about.”
Fans can watch Rockstar Spud and the Stars of TNA every Sunday at 9pm on Challenge TV.
