Starlight’s Christmas Panto season saw interactive theatre group The Panto Company embark on a seven-week tour of over 80 children’s wards across the UK.
For children stuck in hospitals and hospices over the festive season, the panto provides some welcome entertainment and helps make up for the fun and laughter they might otherwise miss out on.
The performance at the Cumberland Infirmary was a huge hit with children, parents and staff alike, as the picture below illustrate well.
Play specialist at the infirmary Jane McCall said: “The children have had really good fun, it was excellent .It was for all of the children who have had to stay in here over Christmas and for a couple who have recently come in. It gives them some excitement and something different – you don’t often get pantomimes in hospital. It was a great break for them.”All images courtesy of Cumbrian Newspapers Limited
