Father Christmas grants Starlight Wishes in Lapland

Just before Christmas 29 children and their parents set off on a magical four day wish trip to find Father Christmas in Lapland.

The children and their families, who travelled to Lapland with Canterbury Travel, were in awe when the arrived in snowy Lapland. They couldn’t believe that the snowy scenes, normally found on Christmas cards, were right in front of them and theirs to explore!

In no time, they were building snowmen, making snow angels and throwing snowballs. They also had great fun riding through the forest on husky drawn sleighs, meeting the reindeer and searching for Father Christmas.

Lucy’s Starlight Wish has given us all something positive to focus on during a horrible time. Last Christmas was spent doing 70 mile round trips for radiotherapy, this Christmas has been spent looking for Santa; what a difference! This trip has meant the world to us.

They were delighted when they found Father Christmas’ snowy covered lodge (the location is a closely guarded secret!) and spent the afternoon telling him what they wanted for Christmas and toasting marshmallows with his elves over the open fire.

The Lapland experience with Starlight gave us four days of unadulterated happiness, joy and shared celebration. After two and a half years of heartache and desperate moments, the trip has given us the most magical and wonderful moments that will live with us forever.
