A Florida trip to remember

Abigail has a rare neurological disorder called Rett syndrome, which she was diagnosed with at the age of nine. She was referred to Starlight through the charity Jeans for Genes, and her wish was to swim with dolphins.

Starlight organised for Abigail and her family to have two weeks of fun and relaxation in Florida. The trip included a visit to Disney World and a couple of trips to Sea World, where Abigail loved watching the whales and dolphins. The highlight of the holiday was definitely swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove, where Abigail and her family had their own private cabana to relax in. The cabana was also a brilliant spot to watch all the action from.

Abigail’s mum said: “The whole holiday was fantastic, and I think we were all aware that we were doing and seeing things that we could never have expected to do as a family.”
