A very busy day for the two new Kent Police recruits

Jessica was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia last year and has undergone two rounds of intensive chemotherapy. Jessica has always wanted to get up close to police dogs since she is very interested in them, as well as the police in general.

Starlight approached Kent Police, who organised the most fantastic day for new recruits Jessica and her twin brother Ryan. Along with their mum, dad and Starlight volunteer Kenneth, they spent a whole day experiencing what it’s like to be a police officer.

Jessica and Ryan got to watch the dog unit in action, as well as meet some of their star players. They also helped out with a crime scene investigation, checked out the police helicopter and opened the new Sittingbourne Police Station front counter! Kent Police also made sure that Jessica and Ryan didn’t go home empty handed and gave them lots of goodies to take home to remind them of the special day.
