A visit with Thomas the Tank Engine at Drayton Manor

Ishmael, from London, was diagnosed at birth with severe haemophilia B, a type of blood clotting disorder.  Ishmael’s mum describes her son as “funny and cheeky” and says he enjoys playing at home with his twin brother, riding his bike – now he has learned to ride without stablisers – and loves Thomas the Tank Engine
Ishmael told Starlight his number one wish was for his whole family to go to Drayton Manor for his birthday weekend to meet Thomas the Tank Engine. Starlight arranged a fantastic trip to celebrate his fifth birthday, sending Ishmael, his parents and his three brothers to Drayton Manor for four days!
His brother Idriss also has haemophilia B and his greatest wish was to have an iPad, so Starlight was able to grant two wishes at the same time!
Ishmael’s mum said: “We were so thrilled to have spent four wonderful days at Drayton Manor. Ishmael was so happy and excited and Idriss never stops using his iPad – he is so pleased! Once again on behalf of all my family, I would like to thank you for these wonderful wishes that have made so happy – not only Ishmael and Idriss, but all of us, as seeing them happy makes us so pleased.”
Ishmael’s wish was kindly sponsored by Symon Vegro, who chose to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon to help raise the money. Thanks Symon!
