In November 2010, Alexander was diagnosed with severe Crohn’s Disease, which is an inflammatory bowel disease. As a result of this condition, he has had to spend a huge amount of time in hospital and has had to undergo surgery to reconstruct his bowel.
Despite his condition, Alexander has remained positive throughout and, when undergoing treatment at University College Hospital London, he dedicated his time to fundraising for the ward and keeping other patients occupied with fun activities.
Starlight organised for Alexander and his parents Martin and Caroline to travel to Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida. During the trip, Alexander was able to swim with dolphins, which has been a lifelong goal for the brave teenager.
