Starr was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when she was three and has endured three long years of treatment.
When Starlight asked Starr what her greatest wish would be, there was no hesitation; she wished to climb a coconut tree in Jamaica and see her family.
In December 2009, Starlight whisked Starr, who is now in remission, and her family off to a swanky hotel in Montego Bay where they saw cliff-jumpers on the famous Negril Beach and went jet-skiing. But the week wouldn’t have been complete without picking coconuts straight from the tree and of course catching up with all the family.
Her mum, Amanda, said: “Though Starr was the one with the illness, we all suffered as a family. This trip has been like a light at the end of the tunnel. After years of treatment and anguish, it’s amazing to have such a great start to a new beginning — we didn’t want to come home.”
