Ashes cricketing dream

Like many 14-year-old boys, Angus is mad about cricket, and it is practically all he thinks and talks about! Angus has a neurological disease, which means he has very high pressure in his brain. He has suffered years of relentless operations to try and control the pressure and has spent more than ten years in and out of hospital.

Starlight organised five days at the Ashes for Angus. He met the players before the test match, met cricket legends throughout the five days, was invited out into the middle of the pitch and ended up in the players’ dressing room just after they had beaten Australia at Lords for the first time in 75 years!

Angus’s mum Penny said: “There are no words to describe how fantastic it was or to express how grateful we all are. Angus has been through so much in his life but it all fades away with this fantastic wish. We will carry these memories and treasure them as a family forever, thank you so much.”

Penny also sent Starlight the most lovely thank-you letter. Read it in the gallery, plus see more photos!
