Twelve-year-old Catriona was diagnosed with immunodeficiency at just one year of age. Five years ago, she had to have a bone marrow transplant and still today requires daily intravenous medicine and a wheelchair.
Catriona’s greatest wish was to meet and stroke some Shetland ponies but she had to wait over six months until she was well enough for her wish. When that day came, however, her wish was better than she ever could have imagined!
From being picked up in a limousine, to meeting the ponies (named Tripe and Onions) and finally having her very own carriage ride, Catriona had a fantastic day.
