20-year-old Dale from Cold Ashby was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when he was 15 years old. Described by his family as a “bolt out of the blue”, the diagnosis turned Dale’s life upside down.
Throughout his hospital visits and the long hours of convalescence in bed, brave Dale has spent lots of time watching David Youldon’s DVDs of ‘Lion Country’ and his wish was to meet David Youldon and his lions in Africa. Dale and his family spent an unforgettable week in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park with David, which included lion walks, game drives, a day trip to the Chobe National Park in Botswana, a cruise on the Chobe River and a guided visit of Victoria Falls!
