17-year-old George has been battling medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumour, for two years. As well as having to cope with losing his hair, George has had to give up school and his social laugh.
Despite all of this, George’s strength of character has never failed him. Not only is he able to face challenges, but he can turn them around to make people smile and life.
Passionate about astronomy, George’s dream is to study astrophysics at University. So, when Starlight asked what he wished for, the answer was easy: to visit a working observatory.
Before Starlight sent him and his family to the world-renowned telescopes in La Palma, George stopped off in Greenwich to meet hero Brian Cox and get some tips. “All in all it was a great experience” said George. “I want to thank everyone that had a part in it […] I hope you can help more people like me to have such amazing memories.”
