It’s plain sailing for Aidan with Starlight

Aidan and Sam on board the ship

Aidan on his cruiseAidan has a rare condition called Prune Belly Syndrome, which is a group of birth defects that has led to end stage renal failure. In 2009, Aidan received a renal transplant but unfortunately it was unsuccessful so he is once again on the transplant list. Without a transplant, Aidan requires daily peritoneal dialysis, which is very tough for him.

Brave Aidan has always dreamt of going on a cruise and Starlight arranged for him and his family to spend ten nights on the luxury Royal Caribbean Cruise Liner ‘Independence of the Seas’.  The ship took them round the Canary Islands and, with hundreds of activities on board, Aidan and his family had lots to enjoy beween port stops!

Aidan’s mum Gill said, “We had a fantastic time. Aidan loved every minute of it and managed to try nearly all of the activities on the ship. I can’t express how good this trip has been for Aidan – a huge thank you to Starlight.”
