Nine-year-old Maisie from Eastbourne was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2011. She underwent 27 months of intense chemotherapy in order to make her better and though she had some significant challenges to deal with during this period she showed an amazing level of maturity and bravery. She has been an inspirational young girl throughout her illness and treatment.
Maisie has always dreamed of being a ballerina so when Maisie was referred to Starlight it didn’t take her long to choose her wish. She said to Starlight, “I would love to practice ballet and have a really, really, really nice ballet dress!”
