Ryan’s ultimate Christmas dream came true when he, along with 12 other Starlight children and their families, flew all the way to Lapland for the experience of a lifetime — meeting the real Father Christmas!
Ryan has a brain tumour and has spent a lot of time in hospital undergoing gruelling procedures and treatments. After spending last Christmas in hospital, Ryan’s family wanted him to have a Christmas they could all remember forever.
Staying in a beautiful log cabin nestled in the gorgeous arctic wilderness, Ryan and his family enjoyed four magical days in the snowy wonderland. They had so much fun sledging, holding husky puppies, enjoying husky dog sledge rides, ice fishing, riding in skidoos and building snowmen. They also took a reindeer sleigh ride to look for Father Christmas in the forest! In the forest, Ryan found a grotto, and inside, he discovered Father Christmas and his elves, who were more than happy to stop making and packing Christmas presents to meet Ryan and his friends.
Ryan’s mum said: “Thank you Starlight, we had a truly wonderful time. It was just fantastic to see all the children so happy after all they have been through.”
