Thomas’s Clapham chose Starlight as its charity of the year in 2008. Since then, the school has raised a phenomenal £72,379.00.
Pupils, teacher and parents alike have held cake sales, staged fireworks displays and a Christmas fayre, created Christmas stars and worked with us on the Art for Starlight project.
Thomas’s Clapham raised money throughout the year and held their annual charity awareness week in March, which gave the children a chance to get to know more about Starlight while the classes competed against each other to see who could raise the most money. One class had everyone guess how many Starburst sweets were in a jar.
Thomas’s have granted many wishes through their fundraising campaign for Starlight, including a magical experience for Zoë, who went to Kenya to meet her maternal grandmother and other family members; Jessica, who met her on-screen hero Keira Knightley in London after watching The Misanthrope; and Logan, who wished for a playground in his garden!
