Gun hire

If you have booked gun hire we will give you a voucher at registration to take to each stand where a loan gun will be waiting.
If any team members have not already paid for their gun hire, please bring either a cash or cheque (made payable to Starlight Children’s Foundation) for £150.

What you will need

In the field

Unless hiring a gun, please remember your own gun and shotgun licence

Gloves are strongly recommended – your barrels will be blazing hot by the end of each drive

Once we have left the Castle the only wet weather protection is the Land Rovers so we strongly recommend bringing full waterproof clothing

£40 in cash:

  • We hope that everyone will enter the sweep to guess the number of clays shot in the day for which you will need a minimum of £20 to enter.
  • Johnathan Irby from James Purdey & Sons is hosting a stand where you may double your team score if you wish. Suggested donation is £20. Here you may also shoot with one of the beautiful James Purdey & Sons guns available to you on the day.
On return to the castle

In case of bad weather, please have clean/dry footwear to change into for lunch in the Castle.

What you will NOT need

For the avoidance of doubt, ear plugs, caps, safety goggles, clays and cartridges (12 or 20 bore) are provided.
(If you are shooting with any other gauge, please bring your own cartridges).

How to win a team prize

As with all shoots, the team who shoots the most clays comes first! But …

You can enhance your team score, by requesting a Joker Card at registration (maximum one Joker Card per team. Suggested donation £100 per team) which you can play on one of four drives to double your score on that drive. Jokers must be played before you shoot the drive!

The day will finish between 4.30pm and 5.00pm
