A huge congratulations to our 2019 London Marathon Team Starlight runners, who took on the 26.2 miles and raised an incredible £85,075.59 to help us brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
The 43 strong team joined us from all over the UK and across the world- including US, France and Romania!
The team included Ryan, who a mere 18 hours after completing the marathon was on stage in the opening day of the Starlight Storytellers Tour. Starlight’s Hospital Services Manager Lisa, who after cheering on hundreds of Starlight runners throughout the years, decided it was time to be on the other side of the track!
Jason found fellow Starlight runner Ian at Mile 19, together they talked and laughed through the last 7 miles to take their mind of the pain of their first marathon and crossed the finish line together. That’s the true Team Starlight spirit!
A massive thank you to our Cheer Point Champions whose enthusiasm on our Cheer Points spurred the team across the finish line. Thanks also to Bagel Factory UK who kept the cheerers well fed and the wonderful staff at The Rubens Hotel for helping us host our after party.
