Starlight Fun Centres are mobile entertainment units that contain a TV, DVD player and a Nintendo Wii. Starlight has placed more than 1,300 Fun Centres in hospitals and hospices across the country to help children cope during treatment and recovery.
Fun Centres are a useful tool to increase mobility and speed recovery.
The fun centre makes a huge difference to the children and young people at the hospice, it helps them feel at home and is a distraction from both their illness and treatment. It keeps the children entertained when they are bored, and it helps them make friends, and gets them talking to each other (as well as the staff)
