IT’LL BE LONELY THIS CHRISTMAS, WITHOUT YOU
Donate to Starlight this Christmas
There are 150,000 seriously ill children, like Billy, who’ll wake up in hospital alone this Christmas.
Billy was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia and needed a liver transplant at 11 months old. At two and a half, he faced another battle - PTLD stage III cancer. Now seven, Billy has spent much of his life in isolation to avoid infections, missing out on playing with other children and spending so much of the last three Christmas seasons in the hospital.
Starlight's toys, resources, and his caring play specialist, Louise ("Wheeze"), brought joy and comfort to Billy during these difficult times, providing the escape he needed.
On our darkest days, with no certainty of what the future may hold, you brought happiness and allowed us to escape to another world—a world that felt a million miles away from the reality of our small hospital cubicle.
Your gift will show seriously ill children that they’re not alone — that you’ll be there for them, even when you can’t be with them in person.
The coming weeks will be unbearably hard for families with a seriously ill child. Instead of visiting Santa, partying with friends and celebrating with their loved ones, they’ll be preparing for Christmas in hospital.
By donating today, you’ll be there when they feel lost, afraid and alone.
