Why play matters?

Play is good for you.  It reduces stress. It builds connection. It makes hard things feel slightly more manageable.

And if it does all of that for us - imagine what it does for a child going through scary, painful treatments. 

We know it reduces trauma and anxiety for children in hospital. We know it makes the unbearable, bearable.

Play is the best medicine and by joining The Big Play, you’re helping us make sure every child who needs it gets their dose - while remembering to get yours too.

What can I expect?

A welcome email with your permission slip and first play prescription. Then one a week until 11 June. There is no planning, they are totally free and no props required. Suitable for all ages and abilities - there's something for everyone. 

The more the merrier. If you know someone who needs a dose of play in their life, send them this way.
