Day in the life

We’re looking for children and young people across the UK to tell us about your healthcare and how play supports you. We want to hear YOUR ‘Day in the life’ stories!

Why should I take part?

By sharing your story with Starlight, you will help to:

  • Make a positive difference to other children and young people going through their own healthcare journey.

Your ‘Day in the life’ story might be used in these ways:

  • On Starlight’s website, social media or in other media such as news stories
  • At policy events such as when we speak to the government
  • For fundraising when we ask people to help us by giving money
  • As part of Starlight’s research to help even more children to play in healthcare

We will only use your story in these ways if you give your permission (see Consent section below).

We might use the whole of your story, or parts of your story, in these ways.

You have the choice of sharing your ‘Day in the life’ story through any of these methods:

  • A video
  • A voice note
  • A letter
  • A comic strip

You can choose which one you prefer and that best suits you.

If you choose a video or voice note, read this guidance about how to record it:

If you choose a letter or comic strip, we have templates for you to use, which you can print or complete online.
