Starlight and Ravensburger partner to bring the joy of play to children in hospital

Our resource box services have received a significant boost from a new partnership with toy company Ravensburger.

More than 7,000 Ravensburger toys mainly from its Play+ baby and toddler range as well as other items for older children are being distributed to health play teams across the UK.

Supporting learning and emotional development

The interactive books, educational toys, games, puzzles and crafts have been specially selected from Ravensburger’s product range by our experts to complement much needed resources already supplied by our charity.

Completely dependent on Starlight resources

Our range of Play Boxes support learning and emotional wellbeing for children of all ages. They are a vital resource for hospital professionals - allowing them to soothe, calm and support children when they are undergoing treatment.

Our research shows that 71% of hospitals do not have a budget for play and the majority of health play professionals say they are completely dependent upon our charity for resources and support which also includes training and sharing best practice with the wider clinical community.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Ravensburger and bring their Play+ range to children and families who need it most. The resources we provide for babies, children and young people will be significantly boosted by this wonderful partnership bringing engaging, fun and educational toys to children of all ages, especially to babies.

“Play is not just fun - it’s an essential part of healthcare. It helps health play staff prepare children for treatments and procedures, as well as helping with their recovery from operations. This support is vital to ensure children's long-term emotional wellbeing and development.”
